About Colleen
Hi- Iām so glad you found me! My name is Colleen and I am a counselor here in Colorado Springs. As someone who has been in counseling before- I know how important it is to feel connected and safe with a new therapist. That is why authenticity and creating a space of belonging are of utmost importance here. I believe healing only happens in a safe and connected relationship. Check out my specialties page for more specific info on how I do counseling.
If your are interested in reaching out to see if we are a good fit, you can click the Book Appointment tab on my website (upper right corner) or send me an email at colleen@counselingwcolleen.com. I offer a free 20 minute phone or video consultation so we can get to know each other and I can answer any questions you may have before we get started.
I look forward to working with you!
more about me!
As a person centered counselor I use a lot of me in the room! I love to use humor, art, stories about my dog ghost, etc. to make people feel right at home once they step into my office.
When you go to therapy, you are taking the brave step of opening up to someone new- and that can be hard! So, it's only fair that I share with you a little bit more about who I am too!
My name is Colleen and I LOVE living in Colorado. I moved here from Virginia after graduating from Virginia Tech in 2017. Being in the Colorado mountains is one of my favorite activities- weather that is on a bike, hike, or snow board!
I have a partner, Titus, and a dog, Ghost, and that makes up my immediate family. I love being around them, especially in the mountains!
I have a mom and 2 sisters, and I am the middle child. My older sister has special needs, so I have a soft spot for the intellectual / developmental disability community. I spent a lot of my childhood helping coach special olympics and being a cheerleader for my amazing sister. My mom and younger sister are both nurses and have been all over the world using their skills to help take care of people.
I care a lot about my friendships and think they are an important part of living a FULL life. Weather we go back country skiing to a hut in the mountains, or sit around and enjoy a bowl of soup (yes I have a standing soup sunday event), they are always around to support me through the hard times and make life full of silliness and laughter.
These are just a few things that make me ME!
I can't wait to start getting to know you and what makes you YOU!
